1.Acceptance and eligibility
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Vinviter, the developer account of Ankitbhai Jayantibhai Patel, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India ("we", "us" or "our"), for your use of the Garud Puran Marathi Android app (the "App").
By downloading, installing or using the App you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age for digital services in your country) to use the App. If you are under 18, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who must agree to these Terms for you. Only an adult, or a minor with a parent's permission, may make a purchase.
2.The service
The App is a devotional and educational app about the Garuda Purana, available in English and Marathi. Its features include:
- Garuda Purana stories (katha) to read and listen to, and shlokas with meaning and audio;
- a 16-day journey, questions and answers, and popular stories with audio and video;
- short devotional reels that you can like, share and download;
- meditation and breathing sessions;
- a Jaap Counter with a mala, voice counting and mantra recording;
- optional daily reminders.
The content is free and supported by ads. Garud Premium is an optional paid plan that removes ads. We may add, change or remove features or content at any time. Some features need an internet connection.
3.Using the App
The App has no sign-up or login. It recognises your installation by a device-based ID, as explained in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your device, your internet charges, and for keeping access to the Google account you use for purchases.
You agree to use the App only for lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes, and not to:
- misuse the like, share, rating or feedback features, or send spam or abusive feedback;
- try to access our servers, APIs or other users' data without permission;
- overload, disrupt or attack the App or its servers;
- use the App in any way that breaks the law.
4.Licence and restrictions
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on Android devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with these Terms and the Google Play Terms of Service.
You must not:
- copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer or disassemble the App, except where the law allows it;
- remove, bypass or interfere with ads, security, encryption or purchase checks;
- scrape, download in bulk, or extract the App's text, audio, video, images or data by automated means;
- sell, rent, re-publish or redistribute the App or its content, or upload it to other apps, websites or channels;
- use the App's content to train machine-learning models or build a competing product;
- remove copyright notices or watermarks from content, including downloaded reels.
Sharing a reel, shloka or the App link with friends and family through the App's share button is allowed for personal, non-commercial use.
5.Your content
"Your content" means ratings and feedback you send us, and any mantra you record or audio file you import into the Jaap Counter.
- You own your content. Mantra recordings and imported audio stay on your device and are not uploaded to us.
- Feedback. By sending a rating, comment or suggestion, you allow us to store it, read it and use it, without payment to you, to improve the App and to reply to you. We will not publish your name with it.
- What you may not record, import or send: anything illegal, obscene, hateful, threatening, defamatory, or disrespectful of any religion or community; anything that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights (for example, commercial music you have no right to use); or recordings of other people without their consent.
You are responsible for your content and for having the right to use it.
6.Intellectual property
The App and everything in it, including its text, translations, audio narrations, music, video, reels, images, illustrations, designs, layouts, icons, fonts, logos, the name "Garud Puran" as used in the App, and the software code, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.
The ancient scripture of the Garuda Purana is in the public domain, but our particular translations, adaptations, recordings and presentation of it are our own work. Fonts, libraries and other third-party materials are used under their own licences. Except for the limited licence in Section 4, no rights are given to you.
7.Premium, payments and refunds
Garud Premium removes all ads from the App. It does not unlock any extra content; all content stays free.
| Plan | Type | Renewal |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | Subscription | Renews automatically every month |
| Yearly | Subscription | Renews automatically every year |
| Lifetime | One-time purchase | Never renews and does not expire |
Price and taxes
Prices are shown in the App and in Google Play in your local currency before you pay. Prices include taxes (such as GST) where Google Play is required to collect them. We may change prices in future; a change will not affect a subscription period you have already paid for, and Google Play will tell you before a new price applies to your subscription.
Payment
All payments are made through Google Play Billing and charged to your Google Play account. The Google Play Terms of Service also apply to your purchase. We do not receive or store your card, UPI or bank details.
Auto-renewal and cancellation
- Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- If a free trial or introductory price is offered, it will be shown before you buy; unless you cancel before the trial ends, the normal price is charged when it ends.
- To cancel: open the Google Play Store > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Garud Puran Marathi > Cancel subscription. You can also use "Manage subscription" in the App.
- After you cancel, Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and then ads return.
- Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
- To get Premium back on a new phone, sign in with the same Google account and tap "Restore purchase".
Refunds
- Within 48 hours of a purchase you can request a refund directly from Google Play at support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637.
- After 48 hours, email us at jackybharwad007@gmail.com with the subject "Refund Request – Garud Puran Marathi" and your Google Play order number (it starts with "GPA."). We will consider requests within 7 days of the purchase or renewal, for example for accidental purchases or if Premium did not work, and we aim to reply within 5 working days.
- Except as above or where required by law, payments are non-refundable, and we do not give refunds or credits for partly used subscription periods.
- If a refund is given, Premium is removed and ads return.
8.Ads and third-party services
The free version shows ads provided by Google AdMob, including banner ads, full-screen ads, an ad when the App opens, and optional rewarded video ads (for example, to download a reel). We do not control, and are not responsible for, the products or services advertised. Any dealings you have with advertisers are between you and them.
The App uses and links to third-party services such as Google Play, Google Firebase, WhatsApp, your email app and our website. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
9.Voice counting and automated features
The Jaap Counter's Voice Jaap feature uses your phone's speech recognition to hear and count your chants automatically. Accuracy depends on your phone, microphone, background noise, speaking speed and language, so the count may sometimes be too high or too low. Please treat it as a helpful aid, not an exact record, and check or adjust the count yourself when accuracy matters to you.
10.Religious content disclaimer
The App presents the Garuda Purana and related teachings for devotional, cultural and educational purposes. Interpretations and translations may differ from other traditions and sources. The content is not legal, medical, psychological or professional advice. Meditation and breathing exercises are for general well-being; stop if you feel unwell and consult a doctor if you have a health condition. For rituals and ceremonies, please consult a qualified priest or scholar.
11.Disclaimer of warranties
The App and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise that the App will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses, or that content will always be complete or accurate.
Some countries do not allow certain warranties to be excluded, so some of the above may not apply to you. Your rights as a consumer under law are not affected.
12.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill or device damage, arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us for Garud Premium in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹1,000 (one thousand Indian rupees) if you paid nothing.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
13.Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless us and our partners, licensors and service providers from any claims, losses, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the App, your content, or your violation of any law or the rights of any other person.
14.Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Remember to cancel any subscription in Google Play first.
We may suspend or end your access to the App, or to features like likes and feedback, without notice if you break these Terms, misuse the App, or if we are required to by law. We may also stop offering the App altogether. If we discontinue the App while you have an active paid subscription, we will stop further renewals. Sections 5 to 17 continue to apply after termination.
15.Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the App will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally within 30 days.
If you are a consumer living in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country whose law gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts, or to the protection of your local mandatory consumer laws, these Terms do not take those rights away.
16.Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the effective date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the App or on the Play Store listing. If you keep using the App after the changes take effect, you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App and cancel any subscription.
17.Severability and entire agreement
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed as little as needed, and the rest of the Terms will stay in full effect.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the complete agreement between you and us about the App and replace any earlier agreements about it.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right, that does not mean we give it up.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example if the App is sold.
- Language. If these Terms are translated, the English version will apply in case of any difference.
