Privacy Policy for Meditation

App: Meditation  ·  Package: com.premanand.Meditation
Effective date: 1 August 2026  ·  Last updated: 1 August 2026

Short version. Meditation does not ask you to create an account, does not contain ads, and does not include any analytics, tracking or advertising SDKs. Everything you do in the app — your breathing sessions, saved sound mixes, favourites, jaap counts and reminder time — is stored only on your own device. We do not collect, sell, rent or share your personal information.

1. Who we are

Meditation ("the app", "we", "us") is an Android application published by Premanand. This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app. If you disagree with anything in this policy, please stop using the app and uninstall it.

2. Personal information we collect

None. The app has no sign-up, no login and no user profile. We do not collect or transmit to ourselves any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, phone number or postal address
  • Your contacts, calendar, call logs or SMS messages
  • Your photos, camera, microphone or files on your device
  • Your precise or approximate location
  • Any advertising identifier (no Advertising ID / GAID is read or used)
  • Any behavioural analytics, crash-reporting or usage-tracking data

Because we never receive this data, we also have nothing to sell, share or hand over.

3. Information stored on your device

The app saves your settings and progress locally, in the app's own private storage area, so the app can remember your practice between launches. This information stays on your device. It is never uploaded to us and never leaves your phone except through Android's own backup feature described in section 6.

What is storedWhy
Session history — date, time, duration and pattern of each breathing session (up to the 300 most recent)To show your Session History & Stats screen: total sessions, total minutes, day streak and weekly count
Chosen breathing preset and your custom rhythm (inhale / hold / exhale / hold / duration)To start your preferred practice without re-entering it
Favourite tracks and your saved ambience mixes (track names, categories, volume levels)To rebuild your saved mixes exactly as you made them
Default background track and default editor's-choice mixTo restore your usual sound when you open the app
Jaap counter value, target and completed roundsSo your count continues where you left it
Daily reminder on/off and reminder timeTo schedule your reminder notification
Breathing sound cue on/offAudio preference
Downloaded audio files (.mp3) in the app's private folderSo music plays offline and is not re-downloaded on every play

You can erase this information at any time — see section 8.

4. Permissions the app requests, and why

PermissionPurpose
INTERNETTo download meditation and ambience audio tracks from our music server when you play or download them
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATETo check whether you are online before attempting a download, so we can show a clear message instead of failing silently
POST_NOTIFICATIONSTo show the daily practice reminder you switch on in Settings, and the playback notification while music is playing. If you deny it, the rest of the app works normally
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETEDAndroid cancels scheduled alarms when the device restarts. This lets the app re-schedule your existing daily reminder after a reboot or an app update. No data is collected or sent

The app does not request location, microphone, camera, contacts, storage or phone permissions.

5. Network connections the app makes

5.1 Audio content server

Meditation music, nature sounds and ambience layers are not all bundled inside the app; they are downloaded on demand from our content server at https://bibledata.reelstori.com. When you play or download a track, your device makes a standard HTTPS request for that audio file.

Like every web server, it may automatically record ordinary technical request logs — IP address, date and time, the file requested and basic device/user-agent information. These logs exist for delivery, security and troubleshooting; they are not linked to any identity or profile, are not used for advertising, and are not sold or shared. We do not send your name, email, location, device ID or any of the on-device data in section 3 with these requests.

5.2 Links that open other apps

Some rows in the app open something outside it. When you tap them, you leave Meditation and the destination's own privacy policy applies:

  • Rate us / More apps → opens the Google Play Store
  • Contact / Support → opens your email app with a blank message to us, or opens WhatsApp
  • Share → opens Android's share sheet so you choose the app yourself
  • Privacy Policy → opens this page in your browser

If you choose to email or message us for support, we receive whatever you write and your email address or WhatsApp number. We use it only to answer you.

5.3 No third-party SDKs

The app contains no advertising network, no analytics library (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Facebook SDK or similar), no A/B testing tool and no attribution or tracking SDK.

6. Google Play backup

The app allows Android's standard Auto Backup. If you have backup enabled in your Android system settings, Android may copy the app's settings data (section 3) to your own Google Drive backup so it can be restored when you reinstall the app or set up a new phone. This backup belongs to your Google account and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We have no access to it. You can turn backup off in your device's system settings.

7. Children's privacy

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. Since we do not collect personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information (for example by emailing support), contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your control, and how to delete your data

All of your app data lives on your device, so you are always in control of it:

  • Clear session history — use the clear/reset option on the Session History & Stats screen
  • Delete a saved mix or favourite — remove it inside the app
  • Free downloaded audio — use the Clear Cache option in Settings
  • Turn off reminders — switch off the daily reminder in Settings, or revoke the notification permission in Android settings
  • Delete everything — Android Settings → Apps → Meditation → Storage → Clear storage / Clear data, or simply uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes all locally stored data

Because we hold no personal data about you on our side, there is no account for us to delete and no export for us to send. If you have written to our support email and want that correspondence removed, ask us and we will delete it.

9. Data retention

On-device data is kept until you delete it or uninstall the app. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to resolve your request. Server request logs are retained for a short period for security and diagnostics, then discarded.

10. Security

Audio is fetched over encrypted HTTPS connections. App settings and downloads are held in the app's private storage area, which other apps on a non-rooted device cannot read. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but since the app holds no personal or financial information, the risk to you is minimal.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK), the CCPA (California) or the DPDP Act (India) to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, and to object to its processing. Meditation is built so those rights are satisfied by design: we hold no personal data about you, we do no profiling or automated decision-making, and we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those laws define it. You can exercise complete deletion yourself at any time using section 8. You may still contact us with any question or complaint.

12. Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
