Privacy Policy

What Jaap Counter collects, why it collects it, who else sees it, and how you can say no.

Effective from5 August 2026
Applicationcom.premanand.jaapcounter
PublisherVinviter - Video Invitation Maker , Wedding, Ecard

The short version

  • You do not need an account. We never ask for your name, phone number or address.
  • Your jaap counts, streaks, favourites and any mantra you record stay on your phone.
  • The microphone is used only while Voice Jaap is running, to count your chants. We do not record, keep or upload your voice.
  • Our server sees a pseudonymous device ID so it can remember your reading progress and favourites — not who you are.
  • The app shows ads. Ad networks such as Google AdMob use your advertising ID to choose them, and you can switch personalisation off at any time.
  • We do not sell your data. Ever.

01Who we are

Jaap Counter (the “app”) is published by Vinviter - Video Invitation Maker , Wedding, Ecard (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains how we handle information when you use the app, and it applies to the Android app distributed on Google Play under the package name com.premanand.jaapcounter.

Using the app is also subject to our Terms & Conditions.

02What we collect

2.1 Information you choose to give us

  • Custom mantras you type in, and any audio you record for one. This stays on your device — see section 4.
  • Feedback — if you rate the app inside it or send a comment, we receive that rating, your comment and the tags you picked.
  • Emails and messages you send us for support, along with anything you attach, such as a screenshot.

2.2 Information collected automatically

To load content and remember where you left off, the app talks to our server at garudpuranapi.vinvite.in. Those requests include:

  • a device identifier — the Android ID your phone gives to apps. It is a random value tied to your device, not to you, and it changes when you factory-reset the phone;
  • your app version, and the app and content languages you have selected;
  • the install referrer, which tells us which campaign or link the install came from;
  • your IP address, which every internet request necessarily carries, and from which an approximate region can be inferred;
  • content activity — which stories and reels you open, how far you read, listen or watch, what you mark as a favourite, what you like and what you share.

If the app ever offers sign-in and you use it, we would also receive the name, email address and profile picture you agree to share. There is no sign-in in the current version.

03The microphone and Voice Jaap

Voice Jaap counts your mantra by listening to you. This is the most sensitive permission the app asks for, so here is exactly what happens:

  • The microphone is switched on only while the Voice Jaap screen is open and running, and it is released the moment you leave or stop it.
  • Audio is passed to your device's own speech recognition service — part of Android, supplied by your phone's maker or by Google — which returns the words it heard. The app compares those words with the mantra you selected and increases the count when they match.
  • We never receive your audio. We do not record it, store it or send it to our servers. Nothing but the count is kept.
  • Depending on your device, that recognition happens on the phone itself or on your speech provider's servers. That step is governed by the provider's own privacy policy, not by ours.
  • Audio you record deliberately for a custom mantra is saved in the app's private storage on your phone, and is deleted when you delete that mantra or uninstall the app.
You are in control

You can refuse the microphone permission, or withdraw it later in Settings → Apps → Jaap Counter → Permissions. Only Voice Jaap and mantra recording stop working; tap counting and the rest of the app carry on as normal.

04What stays only on your device

Much of what the app remembers never leaves your phone. It is kept in the app's private storage and is not visible to us or to anyone else:

  • your jaap counts, mala rounds, targets, daily streaks and statistics;
  • mantras you add and any audio you record for them;
  • your Bhakti favourites, meditation settings, theme and language choices;
  • the last track you played and where you had reached in it;
  • your daily reminder time.

Because this data lives only on your device, uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes it permanently, and we have no copy to restore.

05What we never collect

  • Your name, phone number or postal address.
  • Your contacts, call logs or messages.
  • Precise GPS location. The app never asks for a location permission.
  • Your photos, camera or files outside the app's own folder.
  • Payment or card details — the app is free and takes no payments.
  • Recordings of your voice.

We also do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.

06How we use the information

  • To run the app — load stories, reels, shlokas and audio, and remember your progress and favourites across sessions.
  • To keep the app working — find and fix crashes, errors and slow screens.
  • To improve it — understand which features are actually used, so we know what to build next.
  • To show advertisements, which is what keeps the app free (section 7).
  • To reply to your feedback or support request.
  • To protect the app against fraud, abuse and ad-click fraud, and to comply with the law.

If you are in a place where the law requires a legal basis, ours is: performing the service you asked for, our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and secure, and your consent — for personalised ads and for optional permissions such as the microphone and notifications.

07Advertising

Jaap Counter is free, and advertising is what pays for it. Ads may be shown as banners, full-screen ads between activities, ads inside a feed, short video ads, ads on opening the app, and optional rewarded ads.

7.1 Who serves the ads

Ads are delivered by third-party ad networks and their partners, which may include Google AdMob and others we work with from time to time. We do not pick the individual ad you see; their systems do.

7.2 What ad partners collect

To select, cap, show and measure an ad, those partners may collect and process:

  • your advertising ID (a resettable identifier Android gives to apps for advertising);
  • your IP address, and the approximate location — typically city or region — inferred from it;
  • device and app details: model, operating system version, language, network type, and the app the ad was shown in;
  • ad interactions: whether an ad was shown, viewed, closed, clicked, or led to an install.

This information is collected by the ad networks under their own privacy policies, and we do not receive it in a form that identifies you. For Google, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.

7.3 Personalised and non-personalised ads

Personalised ads are chosen using an advertising profile the ad network builds over time. Non-personalised ads use only broad context, such as the app itself and coarse location.

  • Where consent is required by law — for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — the app shows a consent form the first time it runs, and personalised ads are used only if you agree. You may change or withdraw that consent later from the app's settings, where this option is offered.
  • You can turn off ad personalisation for every app on your phone in Settings → Google → Ads, where you can also reset or delete your advertising ID.
  • Turning personalisation off does not remove ads and does not reduce how many you see; the ads simply become less relevant.

7.4 What we do not give advertisers

We do not pass your jaap counts, your mantras, your recordings, your favourites or your reading history to any ad network. Ad networks receive only the data described in 7.2, which their SDK collects from the device itself.

7.5 If an ad is unsuitable

We apply the content filters our ad networks make available so that ads in a devotional app stay appropriate, but ads are selected automatically and we cannot review each one. If you see an ad that is offensive, misleading or unsuitable, email us at jackybharwad007@gmail.com with a screenshot and the time, and we will report it to the network.

08Analytics and crash reports

Google Analytics for Firebase records anonymous, aggregated events — which tab was tapped, which screen was opened, which Bhakti item was chosen. Events carry no name, no phone number and no content you have written. They tell us what people use, not who used it.

Firebase Crashlytics records a crash when one happens: the error, the stack trace, the device model, the Android version and the app version. Our own server also receives an error log for certain failures, which may include the error message, the stack trace, the screen it happened on, your IP address and the device ID.

You can limit what Google collects across all apps in your device's Google settings. If you would prefer that we stop associating diagnostic data with your device ID, write to us and we will remove it.

09Who we share information with

We share only what each service needs to do its job:

ServiceWhat it receives
Our content server
(garudpuranapi.vinvite.in)
Device ID, app version, language, install referrer, IP address, reading and watching progress, favourites, likes, shares, feedback.
Google AdMob and other ad networksAdvertising ID, IP address, device and app details, ad interactions.

Data is encrypted while it travels between the app and our servers, and you can ask us to delete what is linked to your device ID (section 14).

11Notifications

The app can send you a daily reminder for your jaap, and shows a notification with playback controls while audio is playing. Reminders are scheduled on your own device — no message is sent from our servers for them. You choose whether to allow notifications when the app asks, and you can turn them off at any time in the app's settings or your device settings.

12How we protect the data

Traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS, and request and response payloads are additionally encoded before they are sent. Data on your device is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Access to our servers is restricted to the people who need it.

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach ever affects your information, we will act promptly and inform you and the authorities where the law requires it.

13How long we keep it

  • On your device — until you delete it, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.
  • Progress, favourites and activity on our server — for as long as the app is installed and in use on that device, and for a reasonable period afterwards so that reinstalling restores your progress.
  • Crash and error logs — typically up to 90 days, or as long as the diagnostic service keeps them.
  • Feedback and support emails — for as long as needed to deal with your request and keep a record of it.

Ad networks and analytics providers keep the data they collect according to their own retention policies.

14Your choices and your rights

  • Permissions — grant or withdraw the microphone and notification permissions at any time in your device settings. Refusing one only disables the feature that needs it.
  • Advertising — reset or delete your advertising ID, and switch off ad personalisation, in Settings → Google → Ads.
  • Delete everything locally — uninstall the app, or clear its storage in Settings → Apps → Jaap Counter → Storage.
  • Access or deletion of server data — email jackybharwad007@gmail.com and we will tell you what is held against your device ID, or delete it. We normally respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to correct data, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, receive a copy of your data, or complain to your data protection authority. To use any of them, write to us at the address above.

Because there is no account, we may need your device ID to find your data — the app shows it in Settings → About where that option is offered, and we can explain how to find it if you ask.

15Children's privacy

Jaap Counter is a general-audience app intended for users aged 13 and above, and it is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the app and given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

16Where the data is processed

We operate from India, and our servers and service providers may process and store information in India, the United States and other countries where they run infrastructure. Those countries may have data protection laws different from your own. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as our providers' standard contractual clauses — for those transfers.

18Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app grows — when a feature is added, when advertising changes, or when the law does. The revised policy takes effect on the date shown at the top of this page, and we will note significant changes in the app or on Google Play. This page is always reachable from Settings → Privacy Policy inside the app.
